On-Call Intervention:
When It Counts Most
The most urgent — and most consequential — work VIP staff do happens on-call. When a young person reaches out because something is about to go wrong, or when VIP staff become aware of a situation that could escalate to violence, they respond. This is not theoretical. Marva Moses has already conducted one intervention since the program launched.
On-call intervention is a distinct category of VIP work — separate from prevention programming. It requires availability, judgment, and deep relational trust. When it works, nobody hears about it. That's the point.
Sending a text to request support is an accessible, low-barrier channel for young people or community members to reach out when they see or hear something concerning
Radio
