Club VIP is the school-based arm of the Violence Interruption Program. Operating in both middle schools and the high school in the Hickman Mills district, Club VIP brings VIP staff into school buildings on a regular, structured basis — making them a familiar and trusted presence for students.
Violence Interruption Program
How VIP Works In Schools
A critical component of the VIP program is its active presence inside Hickman Mills schools — both at the middle school and high school level. This is where young people spend the majority of their time, and where relationships can be built before crises occur.
Twice-Weekly Meetings
Club VIP members at both the middle school and high school levels meet twice per week during the school year. These sessions include skill-building, discussion, processing of real-life situations, and relationship development between youth and VIP staff.
Saturday Meetings
Once a month, all Club VIP members — across schools — come together for a larger Saturday meeting. These gatherings include training, collective processing, and cross-school community building. Saturday meetings are a time for deeper investment and broader connection.
One-on-One Support
Beyond group meetings, VIP staff are available for individual conversations — whether that's a check-in, a mediation, advocacy support, or simply a trusted adult who shows up when a young person needs someone in their corner.
